Privacy Policy
Reveal is built around a simple idea: coloring should be a quiet, private moment. That's true of how the app handles your information too.
What we collect
Nothing personally identifying. No accounts. No analytics. No tracking.
Reveal does not collect, transmit, store on any server, or share any personal information about you. There are no user accounts, no sign-in, no telemetry, no advertising identifiers, and no usage analytics.
The only diagnostic data sent off your device is anonymous crash and hang reports via Sentry — used solely to detect and fix bugs. These reports contain a stack trace, your iPad model, and iOS version. They contain no user identity, no email, no IP address, no usage history, and no content from your coloring pages.
What stays on your device
Reveal stores the following information locally on your device only:
- Your colored artwork — the brush strokes you've made on each page, saved as a local image file.
- Page progress — which pages you've started, how far along they are, and which you've completed.
- Brush settings — your selected brush, size, density, and edge preferences per page.
- Favorites — pages you've marked as favorites.
- Settings — your default brush, "Apple Pencil only" preference, "Limit to section" default, theme, night mode, and whether you've seen the welcome guide.
This information never leaves your device. It is not synced, uploaded, or shared. It is stored using Apple's standard on-device storage.
If you delete Reveal, all of this information is removed from your device along with the app.
What we share with third parties
Only anonymous crash/hang diagnostics, via Sentry. Reveal does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or social media SDKs. The single third-party SDK present is Sentry, used solely for the bug diagnostics described above. No identifiable information is sent.
iCloud
Reveal offers optional iCloud sync for your saved progress. When enabled in Settings, your colored pages, page progress, and brush preferences are stored in your private iCloud account so they stay in sync across your iPads.
iCloud sync is:
- Opt-in (off by default — you turn it on in Settings)
- Stored only in your private iCloud account, never on our servers
- Visible only to you and to Apple's iCloud infrastructure under Apple's privacy terms
- Reversible at any time — toggling sync off in Settings stops further sync (your existing iCloud copies stay until you delete them yourself in iCloud settings)
We do not see, log, or transmit your iCloud data. Sync happens between your devices and Apple's iCloud servers under your Apple ID.
Apple Music (optional)
Reveal can optionally display what's currently playing in Apple Music (artwork and time remaining) on the coloring page. This feature is opt-in and off by default; you turn it on in Settings → Coloring view → Show Now Playing.
When enabled, Reveal reads the currently-playing item from your device's Apple Music app via Apple's standard MPMusicPlayerController API. This information is displayed on the coloring page only — it is not stored, transmitted, logged, or shared. Toggling the setting off in Reveal stops the display; you can also revoke the underlying Apple Music access in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Media & Apple Music → Reveal.
Spotify (optional)
If you choose to connect your Spotify account in Settings, Reveal can display what's currently playing on your Spotify account (artwork, title, artist, and progress) on the coloring page. This feature is opt-in and off by default; you connect Spotify in Settings → Coloring view → Connect Spotify.
When connected, Reveal uses Spotify's standard OAuth flow to obtain a limited-scope access token (read-only access to your current playback state — no ability to control playback, modify your library, or read your listening history). The token is stored in your device's secure Keychain and is used only to query Spotify's API for the currently-playing track every few seconds while the coloring page is open. Reveal does not transmit, log, or share this information with any third party — it is displayed to you and discarded.
You can disconnect Spotify at any time in Reveal Settings, which deletes the stored token from your device. You can also revoke Reveal's access directly from your Spotify account at spotify.com/account/apps.
Subscriptions and in-app purchases
Subscription and in-app purchase transactions are processed by Apple via the App Store and are subject to Apple's privacy policy. Reveal does not see, collect, or store payment information, billing details, names, addresses, or any other data about your purchases beyond what your device needs locally to unlock features you've paid for.
Sharing your artwork
Reveal includes a "share" feature that lets you export your colored page as an image. When you tap share, iOS presents the standard system share sheet. Where you send the image is your choice and is governed by the privacy policies of those services. Reveal itself does not see, log, or transmit anything during this process.
Children's privacy
Reveal is appropriate for all ages and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. The app has no accounts, no comments, no chat, no in-app purchases targeted at children, and no advertising. Reveal complies with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by not collecting personal information at all.
International users
Reveal is available worldwide. Because Reveal does not collect personal information about you, users in the European Union, United Kingdom, California, and other jurisdictions with data subject rights (such as the right to access, correct, port, or delete personal information) have no personal information held by Reveal Studio LLC to exercise those rights against. If you have questions about how Reveal handles information in your jurisdiction, please contact us at support@revealcoloring.com.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the "Effective date" above and notify you inside the app before the change takes effect.
